tuesday – saturday (11/19/22-12/3/22)

I had a clear vision on what I wanted to do for this assignment which was female empowerment. During my research I stumbled across 50’s ads where the man was very much in control and thought they were silly and wanted to do one of my own. Started quick on Tuesday taking a few pictures because I think this is what I want to do for our gallery later next semester. I choose one of my least strongest because I wanted to save the others for later, but tried Photoshop hear on Wednesday and with my bad luck it kept glitching. I didn’t worry that much knowing I had photoshop at home, but again not sure why but I didn’t have it. Panicking I choose to just use adobe express and started editing from there. My goal was too have a grain effect to the image making it look more aged and of course black and white. Something I didn’t like about my image is how many wrinkles the backdrop had. So I used the healing tool and realized how much I hate it on photoshop express. In one of the ads it had the quote of “It’s nice to have a girl around the house” and I still wanted to ad that but change it to man. I will be posting it with and without the quote because I couldn’t decide which I liked better. The end result is not my favorite thinking I could have done better with photoshop, but the image sends the message loud and clear.

monday – wednesday (10/31/22-11/9/22)

Starting on Monday I wanted to coat my screen in preparation to burn my image tough which you can see me do in the third image. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do which took up another day sadly, but that same day we got my image printed of my boyfriend. Then on Wednesday I got to burn the screen with my screen having no bubbles. As I was taking off the excess blue stuff my image started to disappear. It was the end of class so I decided to just coat another screen the next day. Then on Friday have my image burn again in time to buy things I wanted to print on. Over the weekend I bought a shirt and tote bag (didn’t come till Friday) and finally printed. First did a sheet of paper as practice which came out great and printed on my white shirt. I honestly loved how it came out and is a favorite shirt of mine. Only thing I would do different is make sure my image was ready because I think that extra day of not doing anything is the reason for it washing off. Sorry for the final image not looking good wanted a picture of my tote bag, but will do next week.

friday – thursday (10/14/22-10/20/22)

Starting from left to right. Not sure what I wanted to do I decided to make in centered around one half of my culture. I walked to the swap meet with my camera on Friday and the first college shows my attempts with the camera, but they were coming out blurry and not good honestly. I changed the camera to my phone instead and you can see my photos in the second college. Tired from walking and busy over the weekend I started editing. As usual my editing is from the app Lightroom mobile and this took a couple of days since it kills my phone battery. I would think I am not intune with my culture, but sometimes it’s nice to go to places and appreciate the art and different parts of my culture. I went to the swap meet because it remind me of my home when I was younger. A mini mall with random things all around you for cheap is so cool too! Reminds me a lot of my mum (even though she Salvadorian), but I am happy with what I got and the person there was nice.

friday – friday (10/7/22-10/14/22)

As I stated before I changed my mind to do my take on a fruits magazine cover. Being inspired by fashion I felt this fit my style., so I took and edited the image Friday. As you can see going from left to right these magazines have this airy feel to them that I was unsure of getting without editing. I raised up the highlights, whites, texture, sharpening, and detail on Lightroom mobile. This was too make sure everything was still clear and sharp enough to see the details in their outfits. To get the airy look I brought down the contrast clarity and dehazed the imagine. Next was adding the small details to make it look like a magazine. On Tuesday I had started cutting and erasing to add issue and volume numbers. This went as long as Friday (today). Not having enough time to finished I saved the image I did at school and finished the editing of the Japanese characters at home. Then here was the end result which is something I am proud us and my models look so good!

thursday (10/6/22)

I changed my mind and decided to do this instead. I realized my friends clothes inspire me so much and made me want to recreate a magazine cover. It won’t be exact but more so my interpretation of what I would do for a magazine cover. I feel it will be mostly editing it too make it look soft, but excited for this idea more than the other.

tuesday (10/4/22)

I made the final decision of recreating this album cover. I don’t think I need any thing like strobes and such but it will be lots of editing. Mostly making it cool tone and lots of contrast. Make sure the black stands out. I also wanted to make sure my makeup looks similar enough.

friday (9/30/22)

Finally done but I do think This wasn’t my best work. The thing I did the most wrong in was not carving thick enough. It affect his mouth area a lot, but I tried to fix it up with paint. I’m not the greatest with paint though either way feel I could have done better if I gave myself more time or just be more patient. Made me realize how important patience is.

Need to do some more coats of red but did the sharp edges!

Finally on the block and will just finish painting on the wood. Might add like sharp edges around him. If find it similar to just paint so ripped the stamp to make it easier on me.
