surrealism writing

Though a little hard to find information on the artist Claude Cahun was quite interesting to me. There work on surrealism was mostly self portraits of them looking strange. It might not seem crazy now since they don’t look too out of the blue, but at the time certain things looked strange. An example is there more circus looking work which is mostly of clowns and people doing acts. Sadly do to this being of the time of WWII a lot of their work was gone after they killed them for subverting the Nazi authority. Overall an artist though doing more than surrealist photography like sculpting and writing.

  1. Aperture is how much light you let in, shutter speed is the speed in which the shutter of the camera closes and iso depends on lighting conditions.
  2. You would need to change when you are over or under exposed.
  3. Aperture priority is having control over your depth of field and shutter priority is for useful for fast moving objects.
  4. There are three AF modes being One-shot AF, Servo AF and AI Autofocus. One shot mode will lock on to the subject after refocusing once. servo AF mode will constantly refocus, and AI focus will detect movement in the frame.
  5. You must meter your light to get the perfect exposure to light.
  6.  White balance needs to be adjusted so the color of the light source can make the white objects appear white.
  7. Depth of field is how much your image is in focus. With it making an effect some people can over use it to make it look a little distracting.
  8. Drive modes are the shooting modes with the camera and meter modes are the process of how your camera decides to assign the right shutter speed and aperture based on the amount of light the camera can pick up.
  9. Exposure compensation is exposure from the value selected by the camera making it either brighter or darker.
